Introduction
Paul's musings now have a page of their own. As a
consequence the site map should now work (a problem with shtml and FrontPage).
This site is the new home of EatTheWord. It will eventually replace and
subsume the old CyberWorship
site, but that's still online in its present form
elsewhere. New for this site is the Music link which
contains some original compositions. The Bookshop
allows you to buy recommended titles from WH Smith's Internet Bookshop. The Discussion
board is a forum for discussing (duh!) EatTheWord and related topics. It
also seems to be increasingly used for prayer requests. No problemo.
The Hebrew/Greek word study on
Praise and Worship was part of the original inspiration for the
Cyberworship site, and so it's reproduced here.
Eat the
Word?
What do you mean, eat the word? Well, the name came from the title of a song
by the World Wide Message Tribe, but
the idea is well founded in scripture.
Deu 8:3
"...man does not live by bread alone, but man lives
by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord."
Ps 119:105
"Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my
path."
One of the more radical and literal examples can be
found in Ezekiel chapter 3
Ezek 3:1-3
"Then he said to me, 'Son of man, eat what you find;
eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.' So I opened
my mouth, and He fed me this scroll. And He said to me, 'Son of man, feed
your stomach, and fill your body with this scroll which I am giving you.'
Then I ate it, and it was sweet as honey in my mouth."
In Jeremiah we read of Jeremiah's delight in eating
God's word.
Jer 15:16
"Thy words were found and I ate them, and Thy words
became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by
Thy name, O Lord God of hosts."
